“I am too young to fight, but I am old enough to help.”
- Olena, Age 8, Lviv, Ukraine
Children in Ukraine have been one of the most affected demographics in Ukraine’s defense against the Russian invasion. Tens of thousands of Ukrainian children have been forced to flee their homes, their hometowns, and for many, their entire country. Too many of them are now orphans, and all of them have been significantly impacted by the war. Yet, they do not complain. When asked how they feel about the war, the general response is overwhelmingly, “I want to help!” We started Kids Helping Ukraine to give them that chance!
Kids Helping Ukraine is a nonprofit project that has engaged children across Ukraine to make handmade friendship bracelets to raise money for Ukrainian orphans, children, and refugees affected by the war.
Each purchased bracelet also includes a handwritten insert by a child detailing that child’s name, age, and hometown in Ukraine. To add an additional personal touch, each child has colored the heart logo at the top of the insert.
To date, more than 15,000 bracelets have been handmade by hundreds of children across Ukraine.
All purchases and donations are tax deductible, and 100% of the proceeds support Ukrainian orphans, refugees, and war relief efforts.
Children, families, and volunteers across Ukraine thank you for your generous support!
